A group of youth leaders called the ChangeMakers at the Alliance for LGBTQ Youth in Florida shared their personal stories of managing anxiety, bullying, rejection, and discrimination, giving direction on every scenario and word used in the book. It was important for the ChangeMakers that not every character in the story be supportive, to best reflect the challenges many must truly overcome.
